Supporting Extenders of Blessings

Glow Cambodia Glow worldwide

Those who serve at Glow are extenders of blessings, carrying Christ’s blessings to all nations and bringing transformation to local communities.

Walking with You

Teaching Reflection from Tahas School of Diakonia

Rev. Li Yui Man

December 2025

"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you," Philippians 1:3

Having taught intensive courses at the school of diakonia for two years—focusing entirely on spiritual growth and the life connection of a healthy pastor—I have seen the students receive much insight. My hope is that this will aid their future ministry and provide a grounded foundation for their personal growth.

The most profound reflection from these two years of teaching is this: when our students graduate and enter the mission field, is our mission truly complete? Both Dr Kwong Ming Yan and I share the same conviction, which is that we must continue to support them. Considering the hardships they face in the field, most are unpaid and earn a living through "tentmaking". The church structures in the villages are very rudimentary and lack organization, yet their commitment is highly commendable. Walking alongside our students, graduates, and fellow pastors has thus become the direction of our vision.

We have recently established the "Philip's Project", aimed at supporting and walking with our graduates who are scattered across various provinces and villages in Cambodia. We take the time to travel to these different regions and villages to visit them, encourage them, and assess their needs. Whether in terms of skills, organization, financial aid, or prayer, we hope to empower and strengthen them.

Please pray for us. Cambodia today has a vast population of youths and children, and the number of believers is growing rapidly. Just as Jesus said to his disciples, "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;" Matthew 9:37

We need workers, Cambodia needs workers, and the workers need our support. May the Lord grant us strength! May Cambodia be blessed and receive grace.

Affiliated Extender of Blessings: Missionary Wong King Bong

Profile of Missionary Wong King Bong’s Ministry in Cambodia

Since setting foot in Cambodia, Missionary Wong King Bong has dedicated himself to local Christian ministries with a humble and passionate heart. He firmly believes that the Gospel is not merely spoken words, but a testimony of life and walking alongside others. Therefore, his ministry extends beyond personal evangelism to focus on nurturing, supporting, and equipping local believers and organisations, allowing the Gospel to take deep root and bear lasting fruit in Cambodia.

1. Walking with the Management of Local Christian Organisations and Providing Consultancy Services

Although Christian development in Cambodia has progressed significantly in recent years, many local churches and organisations still face numerous challenges in administrative management, visionary planning, and resource utilisation. Leveraging his extensive ministry experience in Hong Kong and other regions, Missionary Wong King Bong has become a mentor and friend to the management of several local Christian organisations. He is frequently invited to strategic meetings to help leaders analyse current situations and clarify directions, providing professional advice on organisational structure, personnel management, and financial planning. Through this consultancy and companionship, he not only helps organisations enhance their administrative effectiveness but also encourages leaders to stay faith-based, hold fast to their vision, and lead their teams into the future.

2. Accompanying Young Christians and Nurturing Them to Seek a True Path of Development

The younger generation in Cambodian society faces many temptations and difficulties, making it easy for them to lose their way on their journey of faith. Missionary Wong King Bong cares deeply about these young Christians, often building personal relationships with them to become their spiritual companion. Through regular small group gatherings, personal counselling, and retreats, he accompanies young people as they discuss topics spanning faith, life, career, and family. The missionary firmly believes that God has a unique plan and calling for every young person. Thus, he focuses on helping them discover themselves, identify their gifts, and build spiritual character, encouraging them to courageously pursue the path God has prepared for them. These young people are not only growing in faith but are also gradually becoming leaders in their churches and communities, exerting a positive influence.

3. Caring for Village Pastors and Assisting Them to Become Self-Reliant

In the vast rural areas of Cambodia, many pastors still serve silently in extremely harsh environments. Deeply aware of their loneliness and pressure, Missionary Wong King Bong takes the initiative to visit various villages to meet pastors face-to-face, understanding their living needs, ministry difficulties, and psychological well-being. He not only offers prayers and encouragement for their spiritual lives but also assists them in finding paths to self-reliance, such as developing small-scale agriculture, handicrafts, and community cooperative projects. Missionary Wong believes that when pastors have their basic livelihood secured, they can shepherd their churches and serve villagers wholeheartedly without anxieties. This holistic care approach has enabled many rural churches to gradually establish self-sufficiency, while strengthening the church’s service and witness to the community.

4. Providing Tailored Training to Equip Christian Organisation Staff and Believers

Equipping believers and co-workers is the cornerstone of the long-term development of the church. The missionary actively participates in designing and leading various training courses covering biblical teaching, leadership training, children's ministry, family care, and community service. Based on local practical needs, he flexibly adapts teaching materials and methods to ensure that participants can apply what they learn. Apart from regular workshops and seminars, he also encourages organisations to build a culture of continuous learning, promoting mutual support and sharing among co-workers. This training not only enhances the ministry capacity of staff and believers but also ignites their passion and sense of mission for the ministry.

The missionary’s ministry perfectly embodies the missional spirit of "walking with people, equipping the community, and serving society". He firmly believes that the power to transform lives and communities comes from God’s love and truth, as well as from a group of workers willing to commit to walking together. Whether in urban areas or rural villages, Missionary Wong ploughs faithfully with humility and perseverance, witnessing the growth and hope of the Gospel in Cambodia. In the future, he hopes to continue joining hands with local churches and believers, allowing God's kingdom to take root, grow, and bear fruit in Cambodia.
